SAW
Though it wasn’t really the best horror game by any stretch of the imagination, SAW does a good job of torturing its protagonist David Tapp. Starting out with a bullet wound, which is subsequently used to conceal a key, Tapp is trapped in an abandoned asylum and must contend with other prisoners who need the key to escape. Moving from one test to another to save Jigsaw’s victims, from the Pendulum Trap to the Shotgun Collar, Tapp must endure his past bad choices along with the killer’s twisted philosophy. Unfortunately, there’s no happy ending – the canon ending itself, which ends in Tapp’s freedom and the other victims being saved ultimately ends with him committing suicide.
