Fallout 4 pursued an interesting gameplay model that not every player would have enjoyed. It was about exploration, combat and looting, with that last step usually concerning junk for one’s settlement or weapons. The shooting was a lot more refined but this was still the same retro-futuristic aesthetic mixed with shady Vault-Tec dealings, mysterious haunted dig sites and intriguing NPCs to interact with. Love it or hate it, getting lost in Fallout 4’s world could be fun if you enjoyed its core gameplay loop.
