Assassin’s Creed Origins
If Black Flag was a huge leap forward, Assassin’s Creed Origins wiped the slate clean. It introduced a massive open world set in Ancient Egypt with ruins, pyramids, towns and all manner of desert in-between. Origins went back to the very beginning of the Assassin Order, showcasing the journey of Bayek as he battled the Order of the Ancients to avenge his son. This was the first game in the series to implement heavier action RPG elements as players collected loot while stealth felt downplayed. Regardless, for the stories it told and the intriguing world offered, Assassin’s Creed Origins was a satisfying reboot.
