Sunset Overdrive
Before the Spider-Man series, Insomniac Games was refining its open world exploration formula with Sunset Overdrive. Taking place in Sunset City, which is under lockdown after FizzCo’s latest drink turns everyone into horrifying mutants, players must run and gun their way through the world to survive. Despite the post-apocalyptic implications and body horror, Sunset Overdrive is fairly humorous with over-the-top action and an excellent traversal system that connects wall-runs, grinding, and platforming in amazing ways.
