Nevertheless, there’s so much that it gets right, elevating beyond your average hack-and-slash action RPG. The combat system with stances, abilities, Transformations, and Spirits offers extensive skill expression, matched by stunning boss fights, each with unique mechanics. Coupled with excellent art direction, music and story-telling, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
