It would have been something for Bloober Team to completely change the original, which Konami seemingly desired during development. And while it offers new buildings to explore, subtle hints to the original (it’s a spiral, after all), an over-the-shoulder perspective, and revamped sections like Toluca Prison, Silent Hill 2 remake captures the original’s essence spectacularly. Far from being one of the best remakes ever made, it’s also an incredible survival horror – a frightening feast for the eyes and ears.
