Instead of leaning into the supernatural, The Devil in Me is more grounded. It sees a crew of documentary filmmarkers venturing to a replica of H.H. Holmes’ infamous “murder castle” after receiving a strange invitation. Holmes was the first serial killer that America ever witnessed and soon, someone begins hounding the crew. They’re forced to partake in gruesome challenges to survive while being monitored by a “twisted host.” You’ll make decisions to influence the fate of the main cast. Whether a few live to see the light of day or everyone dies is ultimately up to players.
