It’s amazing how well ARK: Survival Evolved, a sandbox survival game from Studio Wildcard and Instinct Games which allows players to fight and tame dinosaurs, has taken off on Steam and this is due to the number of updates its received while still being in Early Access. However, as the dev teams near a full release, the overall pace of its updates will slow down by quite a bit.
Co-creative director Jesse Rapczak told RPS that “Our pace of updates will slow down a lot as we get towards release, as we don’t want to be iterating on new stuff as we try to polish the game.
“We’ll see a slowdown. We have a target around the beginning of next year to start locking down and doing a formal alpha and beta period with the game, so that we can ship and really open up our options for release.”
The team will also begin working on the game’s first expansion which “is lots of extra gameplay hours and story extensions on top of the main game.” You can expect to see it a few months after ARK: Survival Evolved releases in June 2016.
