The Division Will Offer Single Player, Seamless Loading Into PvP

The game is supposed to offer seamless transition between the modes.

Tom Clancy's The Division

While The Division is expected to be a game most people play as an online multiplayer title, that doesn’t mean you have to have all of your friends handy in order to enjoy the game. There will be plenty you can do by yourself, according to a recent interview with Community Developer Hamish Bode. Bode recently talked to LazyGamer about the differences between the two types of gameplay. Among the biggest differences is that players will not have to go through loading screens in order to jump into PvP modes.

According to Bode “It is seamless. For example, the Dark Zone. You don’t load into it, you just jump the wall and you’re in. And sometimes [players] are going to do this accidentally. And it’s not always just walls – there are different types of entries and exits [to different zones]. And some only act as entries. So if [players] aren’t sure, maybe don’t jump.” It stands to reason there will be some kind of warning system, at least a sign on the map that will allow you to realize that you’re about to jump into this dark zone, but otherwise it sounds like a really interesting switchover.

The biggest factor, when choosing to play by yourself, instead of as a team, is you’ll need to be a bit more of a “jack of all trades.” The game is set up to have different players take on different roles. If there’s just one player, it will certainly  be hard to pull off some feats. Check out the entire interview below and get psyched up for The Division which launches on March 8, 2016.
