The PlayStation VR has sold more than 3 million units in total so far, and while that’s certainly an impressive number, it’s likely that this number would be even higher if users didn’t have to deal with issues such as motion sickness when using it. Well, it looks like Sony may have figured out a solution to combat this issue, which will hopefully allow them to sell some more units of the PlayStation VR.

Sony had filed a patent back in 2017 which basically proposes a system to combat simulation sickness. Although the patent was filed a year ago, it was only published last week. It looks quite complex, but it will basically make use of things like an eye tracker camera, pressure sensor, moisture sensor, and other such implementations, which will sense when a player is about to cross the health threshold. When this happens, the experience will be balanced, so that the player doesn’t start to feel sick.

You can check out the image below for more details on how this will work. We’ll just have to wait and see if this will help to bolster sales of the PlayStation VR, but it’s certainly an interesting solution, and one that is definitely needed as well.
