Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm Studios revealed Mortal Kombat 11, the newest addition to its ultraviolent fighting franchise, at The Game Awards 2018. It also recently confirmed that those who preordered the game would receive beta access (though this is limited to Xbox One and PS4 players). In a new FAQ, NetherRealm revealed that the beta would be taking place in March. Specific dates will be provided in the coming days.

Over-the-top violence aside, Mortal Kombat 11 changes up quite a bit from its predecessors. The new Krushing Blow mechanic allows for bone-crushing attacks at specific moments, while Fatal Blow can be used when the player’s health is low. The total roster of 25 fighters includes Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, and newcomers like Geras.

Iconic boss Shao Kahn is also available as a preorder bonus along with beta access though. Mortal Kombat 11 is out on April 23rd for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Stay tuned for more information on the title and new details on what to expect with the upcoming beta.
