Anthem Quickplay Bug Allows Low Level Players Into Final Mission

A major issue has been discovered in the looter shooter's matchmaking.

Anthem

BioWare’s Anthem may be launching worldwide for all platforms later this week, but PC players have managed to experience all the content already. That’s thanks to Origin Access Premier, which provides one week early access to the game (minus the day one patch). Of course, in that time, a number of issues, like long loading times, multiple loading screens, animation bugs, and so on have been discovered.

Perhaps the biggest issue is with quickplay though. A tool to allow players to back-fill into available missions, there seems to be a bug that allows low-level players to access the final mission. That’s right – you can have a level 3 player in your squad who’s only done the first few missions access the big battle at the end, as streamer Brandon “Seagull” Larned found out recently.

What happens if the low-level player doesn’t exit the mission, as two later players did in Larned’s instance? Well, you’ll have to fight the final boss with his scaled up health. Meanwhile, your low-level allies deal no damage and are easily one-hit killed.

Other issues have been plaguing Anthem’s end-game, like the lack of meaningful new content (the final story mission is one of the three end-game Strongholds, for example), unintuitive interface, lack of information in some bonuses, and so on. BioWare will have time to correct some of these issues in the lead-up to launch, but others may take more time. Anthem is out on February 22nd for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
