Naughty Dog and Sony have been awfully quiet about when we might see the launch of The Last of Us Part 2- though there’s been no lack of speculation on that front. Many have suggested that the action-adventure title will be out this year itself, and now a listing for the game on Slovakian retailer ProGamingShop is suggesting the very same.
Said listing mentions the game’s release date as September 27 as this year, with a box art to go along with it. We have a screenshot for you below as well, in case the listing is edited. Retailer listings for release dates of unannounced games are incorrect almost as often as they are correct, so don’t take this as confirmation of any sort- but it’s something. Sony’s own European pages, in fact, were suggesting that The Last of Us Part 2 would be among the batch of games releasing on the PS4 this year not too long ago.
Given all the progress Naughty Dog have made on the game’s development lately, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the title releasing in 2019. From filming having been wrapped up on scenes involving not only Laura Bailey, but also protagonists Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, not to mention the fact that the game’s final scene has also been shot, one would assume that development is in – or at least close to – its final stages.
