Remedy’s next game, Control, is taking a lot from the company’s past games, but also is carving its own path. We know the game will have a more Metroidvania-style progression as opposed to more linear style of their previous titles, for instance. Another thing that’s going to be a little different is the game’s sound design, which a new video details.

The game has a familiar face working on the soundtrack, which we reported about before, so the sounds themselves will probably feel somewhat familiar. However, how the game interacts with that soundtrack is a little different. Composers Martin Stig Andersen and Petri Alanko, and Senior Sound Designer Ville Sorsa, talk about how the game’s soundtrack will be dynamic, linking to the progression of the story and gameplay. They hope that it keeps the sound of the game fresh as players continue to play, hearing consistently changing and shifting music. You can check out the video below to see some examples.

Control will release August 27th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out details on post-release and pre-order content here.
