inXile Entertainment finally provided a new trailer for Wasteland 3, its crowd-funded squad-based role-playing game. As a follow-up to the grim and serious Wasteland series, you’d expect something a lot more serious. Instead, we’re greeted by a rather inebriated prospector who gives us the rundown on the horrifying sights and sounds of Colorado.
Despite the more lighthearted tone, Wasteland 3’s gameplay is still very much the same squad-based turn-based tactical combat from previous titles (with co-op added). Some of the enemies include robots, which are always a headache to fight. The frozen landscapes of previous trailers are showcased in gorgeous detail here as well.
Wasteland 3 is out in Q4 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Though inXile Entertainment has been acquired by Microsoft, that doesn’t seem like it will affect the game’s release on other platforms. Perhaps it will come to Xbox Game Pass at launch like Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds. Stay tuned for more information as it arrives.
