How long have we been asking to get Banjo-Kazooie as playable characters in Super Smash Bros? Longer than anyone can remember, that’s for sure. Well, all our long-standing wishes finally came true. At their E3 2019 Direct presentation, Nintendo announced with a predictably amazing trailer that the N64 platforming mascot duo will be joining the ever-growing roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The trailer started off with Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and King K.Rool in the Kong household, looking very similar to the one that revealed K.Rool for Smash. The three of them proceeded to look outside to notice a massive shadow that looked a lot like Banjo and Kazooie. A typical trollish fake out later that Masahiro Sakurai fans will be very familiar with, the trailer finally revealed the Rare creations. That was proceeded by gameplay, which shows the duo in action. Take a look below, courtesy of GameXplain.

Banjo-Kazooie will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in Fall 2019. They’ll be the third DLC fighter in the game’s Challengers Pack, with the first being Joker from Persona 5, and the second, Dragon Quest 11’s Luminary, also having been announced earlier in the Direct.
