Several mysterious teasers and gameplay demonstrations over the years have finally culminated in Death Stranding going gold. The news was announced by director Hideo Kojima on Twitter. He went on to thank the development team, Sony, Guerrilla Games, and cast members who “all put their heart and soul into it.”

As Kojima’s first game since leaving Konami in 2015, Death Stranding tells the tale of a post-apocalyptic United States. Sam Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, is called upon to reconnect the various fractured societies. Along the way, he’ll contend with Beached Things or BTs and other obstacles. The realm of the dead is a major factor as is Timefall, rain which speeds up aging for those who touch it.

Death Stranding will be releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on November 8th. A launch trailer will likely be coming in the next few weeks so stay tuned for the same. Meanwhile, there’s a limited edition PS4 Pro bundle that includes a 1 TB HDD and a copy of the game launching on the same day for $400.
