Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint was set to receive a new immersive mode this month, one that would radically change the game and provide a more realistic experience. It would have also seen the new Engineer class added. Unfortunately, the development has confirmed that both features have been pushed back to Spring.

In a recent blog post, the developer says that, “Our objective with the new immersive mode is to provide an impactful update to the game using your feedback as the foundation. The immersive mode is built upon the results of the Community Survey, your observations gathered by our Community Managers, and workshops with the Delta Company alongside extensive playtesting. We are in the process of creating an experience that will change the way you are able to play Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.”

It hasn’t been easy though. Ubisoft noted that the “complexity of integrating this new mode” has been a challenge and it’s pushing things back to “ensure that the experience will be a great one when it releases.” The Engineer class is also planned to release at the same time along with Episode 2, which contains new story missions, and the next title update. More details on immersive mode will be provided on March 5th.

Though Ghost Recon Breakpoint saw its Terminator event go live in January, it also suffered a delay before release. It remains to be seen just how game-changing the new immersive mode will be, especially given the backlash against Breakpoint’s mechanics at launch. As always, stay tuned for more details.
