Amidst all the news about Sony’s PlayStation 5 and the full specs reveal, a change was noticed for the release window of Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. Instead of “Holiday 2020”, it said “Thanksgiving 2020” on the console’s new product page. This would technically mean that it launches on November 26th but the page was since updated back to the original Holiday 2020 window.

Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb took to Twitter to clarify this. “An Xbox product page in some regions inaccurately listed the launch date for Xbox Series X as Thanksgiving 2020. We are committed to launching Holiday 2020.” Don’t expect a release date announcement any time soon either especially given how unpredictable the current situation around the COVID-19 coronavirus is.

There is a lot of information of interested consumers to sink their teeth into though. Along with full specs, Microsoft revealed how the Xbox Series X could HDR to backwards compatible games that didn’t originally support it. It also revealed a port for The Coalition’s Gears 5 that was optimized within only two weeks but delivered performance roughly equivalent to an Nvidia RTX 2080. Stay tuned for more details on the console as they arrive.
