Naughty Dog has released the final video in a series detailing various aspects of The Last of Us Part 2. This edition is about the world design, particularly for Jackson and Seattle, and the threats that players will face. The Infected, the Seraphites and the Washington Liberation Front are just a few of the things that Ellie has to worry about.

It is interesting to see how the development team approached each area’s design. Jackson has more of a homely atmosphere with electricity and a tightly knit community. By comparison, Seattle is considered a warzone with constant rain and an escalating sense of danger. It was also revealed that the Infected could attack the player in hordes, which sounds like a bad time waiting to happen.

Overall, the scale of levels will make The Last of Us Part 2 worth replaying, especially since you can potentially miss entire scenes and encounters. The releases on June 19th for PS4 with reviews going live on June 12th. For a deep dive into the gameplay, including the combat and exploration head here.
