One of the most interesting things about the Switch is that it has just enough of the hardware power for current generation games to be ported down to it. But there’s enough of a gap that there’s still a decent amount of challenges to doing so. One recent release to show this was The Outer Worlds, and while the port is perfectly playable, it definitely had some performance and visual issues. Well, it is what it is in many ways, but a patch is coming soon.

Publisher Private Division took to Twitter to confirm that an update would be coming soon to address some of the performance issues, and that the port team, Virtuos, are continuing to look at ways to improve this version of the game. No specific details or time frame are given at this time.

The Outer Worlds is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. DLC is planned for this year, and that includes for the Switch version as well.
