Like many companies, Square Enix’s slate of announcements for E3 2020 was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The publisher didn’t announce a replacement and that’s meant certain games – like PlatinumGames’ Babylon’s Fall – have been without an update. Fortunately, the developer offered an update on Twitter and revealed that the game is “continuing to progress well.”

“While we hoped to reveal more about the game this summer, we can share that development on Babylon’s Fall is continuing to progress well, with the team working safely from home. Square Enix and PlatinumGames are committed to delivering an exhilarating experience and we look forward to showcasing much more on Babylon’s Fall to you as soon as we can.”

Babylon’s Fall was announced way back at E3 2018 but re-emerged during Sony’s PS4 State of Play last December. We got a better look at the hack and slash style of gameplay, which seemed like a mix of Devil May Cry and NieR: Automata. The title is still in development for PS4 and PC so we’ll just have to wait for further updates.

PlatinumGames has a number of projects in the works currently, including Bayonetta 3 for the Nintendo Switch and Project G.G. The former has also been lacking any major gameplay reveal though Platinum insists that development is progressing smoothly.
