Out of nowhere, Sony’s State of Play featured gameplay footage for Babylon’s Fall. Initially announced at E3 2018 and pretty much AWOL since then, we finally get to see how PlatinumGames’ action title plays. Check it out below.

The developer’s combat pedigree is out in full force with combos, a grappling hook to pull one’s self to enemies, floating swords and much more. We even get to see a boss fight against a giant knight, with our protagonist turning the tables. The trailer ends with more information promised in Summer 2020 (which is essentially Square Enix’s next E3 showcase).

Overall, it looks pretty good though we’ll have to wait to see more of the “Brushwork Filter” in action for the visuals. Babylon’s Fall is in development for PS4 and PC with no release window confirmed as of yet. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates from PlatinumGames – it does have Bayonetta 3 in the works as well after all.
