Iron Oak’s Valheim has seen incredible success since launching for Steam Early Access earlier this month. Within 13 days, it sold over two million copies, has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating and is one of the more popular titles on Twitch. It seems like the Viking survival title will hit another milestone soon, as the Embracer Group confirmed nearly three million copies sold.
Announced following its Q3 FY20/21 results, CEO Lars Wingefors stated that Coffee Stain – which publishes the title – owns a minority ownership in developer Iron Gate AB. Coffee Stain Holding, perhaps better known for Coffee Stain Studios of Satisfactory fame, is one of many companies owned by the group. It’s also noteworthy for publishing Ghost Ship Games’ Deep Rock Galactic which has sold over two million units thus far.
Valheim is currently slated to remain in early access for at least a year. It’s currently 50 percent complete in terms of content and 75 percent features-wise. The sky is seemingly the limit on its sales so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
