Remedy Entertainment’s Control universe is undergoing some significant additions. In a recent investor post, the developer and publisher 505 Games announced a co-publishing and development agreement for a spin-off of the third person action adventure title. The title is a four player co-op PvE experience codenamed “Condor.”

Condor will be developed on Remedy’s Northlight engine and releasing for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Though gameplay details haven’t been provided, the initial development budget will be EUR 25 million (roughly $29.74 million). The companies will split the development and marketing investments along with net revenue generated. Digital Bros Group co-CEOS Rami and Raffi Galante (under which 505 Games is a subsidiary) stated that, “We are excited to continue and further expand our collaboration with Remedy. With over 2 million copies sold and revenue exceeding EUR 70 million, Control is an extremely successful game.

“As a multiplayer game, Condor has the potential to engage the gaming community in the long run, contributing to 505 Games’ product revenue stream longer than traditional games.” That’s not all though – 505 Games and Remedy will also have a “bigger-budget Control-game the future. Whether this is a sequel, another spin-off or a similar style of game remains to be seen.

As Remedy CEO Tero Virtala stated, “We have successfully collaborated with 505 Games for over four years and have both become stronger in our respective fields. We are happy to extend and deepen our partnership. This new agreement supports Remedy’s aims to expand our games into long-term franchises, create benchmark-setting games, strengthen our commercial capabilities and collaborate with great partners with whom we can succeed together.”

Remedy Entertainment also has two triple-A titles that being published exclusively by Epic Games (with Alan Wake 2 rumored to be one of the titles) along with working on CrossfireX’s single-player campaign for Xbox Game Studios. Control is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch – check out our official review for it here.
