Final Fantasy 14

Update 6.1 for Final Fantasy 14 recently introduced much new content and features to the MMORPG, along with introducing a new system for the purchase of house lands in the newly introduced region Ishgard. Unfortunately, the housing lottery system, which was introduced to make purchasing housing lands in the new region fair, has all but gone smoothly.

To summarize, the system failed to assign and pick winners for the plots as intended, displaying a “0” as the new tenant. To address the issue, Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of the game, published a post on the game’s official website.

In the post, Yoshida clarified that the system is entirely random, with the development team working hard to identify the cause of it. For now, there isn’t any solution that’s been identified, and it will require additional time. Yoshida assures, however, that players will not be negatively affected by the problem, saying:

“We will continue to carefully investigate and address the causes of these types of occurrences. We still have the lottery data, and it is possible for us to confirm the status of entry applications through our database server logs. These logs will be referenced to ensure that players who have accepted their gil refund from losing the lottery will not be negatively affected by the measures we will be taking afterwards. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these issues, but please rest assured regarding this point.

“We will continue to follow up with further details regarding the investigation and our measures for this matter as soon as possible. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience.”

Final Fantasy 14 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
