The Capcom Showcase is taking place today at 3 PM PDT and features titles like Resident Evil 4 remake and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. While the focus is on previously announced titles, the company has promised an “announcement or two.” One of those could be Dragon’s Dogma 2.

In a Reddit thread about director Hideaki Itsuno retweeting the showcase announcement, leaker DasVergeben said, “Dragon’s Dogma fans are in for a treat today. I hope you’re excited 2 see it.” The “2” is the most conspicuous part, subtly hinting at the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2. This wouldn’t be the first time the game has been rumored – leaker AestheticGamer said in May 2021 that it was “100 percent” using RE Engine.

DasVergeben is worth taking seriously since they revealed details on Street Fighter 6’s characters and design changes way before the official gameplay reveal (and concept art leak). Dragon’s Dogma first released in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360 before coming to PC in 2016. Is the sequel real and could it potentially release this year? Time will tell so stay tuned for the Capcom Showcase for more details.
