After launching in March this year, Square Enix has announced that Babylon’s Fall will be terminating its online service on February 27th, 2023 at 11 PM PT. The developer has announced the cancellation of its large-scale updates, along with the end of Season 2 on November 29th, 2022. The Final Season will commence on the same day, with sales of the Premium Battle Pass also ending.
From today onwards, the premium currency Garaz can no longer be purchased. Digital and physical sales will also “draw to a close.” In terms of content, players can look forward to new Event Missions and Special Rewards along with New Year rewards in December. In January 2023, the second wave of new Event Missions will go live, followed by the third wave in February.
Babylon’s Fall was first announced at E3 2018 but went radio silent for several years before re-emerging at E3 2021. It underwent many changes with its art style while adopting a live-service model. A closed beta had been underway up to launch, but it still received largely negative reviews.
