Halo The Master Chief Collection

Halo has been taking the hits recently, most notably with Halo Infinite’s Season 3 having been recently delayed and its splitscreen co-op plans shelved, while 343 Industries recently also said that it was considering adding microtransactions to Halo: The Master Chief CollectionThankfully, at the very least, it seems like the latter isn’t going to end up happening.

In a recently published update on Halo Waypoint, the developer confirmed that it’s not going to add purchasable Spartan Points to The Master Chief Collection after all. “We can confirm that we will not be further pursuing purchasable Spartan Points for MCC,” the developer wrote.

Additionally, 343 Industries is also making some notable changes to the pace at which players will earn the aforementioned Spartan Points, with the developer intending to “remove barriers”. This will entail the 100-point cap being removed and players now being granted retroactive Spartan Points. Meanwhile, Challenges will also see some balancing changes that will make them “more rewarding”, while double XP weekends will be returning as well.

343 Industries says these changes will be made when The Master Chief Collection’s next content update arrives, which is currently being targeted for sometime in November. Stay tuned until then for more details.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
