Forge Mode is finally available in Halo Infinite, but it has a few issues. One of those includes the idle timer, which would disconnect players automatically from the mode if they were idle for too long. Any work would thus be lost if the player didn’t save.

Fortunately, 343 Industries is aware of this and providing a fix. As noted by Forge lead designer Michael Schorr on Twitter, the idle timer will be increased to 12 hours. He also revealed that if a session ends due to crashes, disconnects or inactivity, “We create an autosave. There is a bug where this autosave doesn’t always work; we are working on a fix for this.”

If you leave a Forge session normally without saving, then your previous save will be used. So save “early and often,” reminds Schorr.

Forge is currently in beta and part of Halo Infinite’s Winter Update. The massive update added two new multiplayer maps, new modes, a 30 Tier Battle Pass, the Match XP beta, and much more. Stay tuned for further updates and improvements to Forge in the coming days.
