Marvel's Avengers - Winter Soldier_01

Crystal Dynamics has announced that Bucky Barnes, aka Winter Soldier, will join Marvel’s Avengers as a new playable character on November 29th. As part of Update 2.7, Barnes is voiced by Scott Porter and focuses on damage dealing, both from range and close quarters. Along with a unique skill tree and heroic abilities, he also has some new animations to ogle.

A new Heroic Mission Chain will become available for Winter Soldier, which sees the Avengers helping him deal with past trauma. Once this is complete, players receive his iconic outfit. The update also includes a new Omega-Level Threat in AIM’s Cloning Lab. MODOK has been revived and poses a new end-game threat for four players.

Cloning Lab is about as long as the Omega-Level Threat Family Reunion and requires 175 Power to enter. Completing it rewards new gear and higher-level gear. The Power cap is also increasing to 185.

Stay tuned for more details on update 2.7 in the coming weeks. For the future, the developer is providing “ongoing revisions and tuning to heroes” with its next update. It’s meant to “continually ensure that each Hero feels as fully heroic as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes should.”

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Check out our review of the base game here.
