Despite reduced sales projections for the year, The Callisto Protocol continues to receive support. Director and Striking Distance founder Glen A. Schofield revealed that the next free update would go live on February 8th. It adds Hardcore Mode, which could mean tougher enemies and having to restart the game on death.

For Season Pass owners, the Outer Way Skin Collection will also be available, providing Outer Way Armor for protagonist Jacob Lee. Schofield told fans to stay tuned after 10:30 AM PT today, so there will likely be a new trailer showcasing the skins or Hardcore Mode. The Contagion Bundle arrives in March, followed by the Riot mode and Bundle in Spring and story content in the Summer.

The Callisto Protocol is available for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. It launched in December and received a mixed critical response while suffering from performance issues on PC. Striking Distance Studios has been updating the game regularly, from providing the option to skip death animations to adding New Game Plus.
