Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the continuation of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. There’s a heavy focus on Sephiroth as Cloud and crew pursue him in the lands outside of Midgar. Check it out below.

The trailer has much to unpack, from a flashback to Nibelheim and Sephiroth’s madness to Tifa seemingly in danger. The Midgar Zolom boss, encountered in the marshlands en route to the Mythril Mine, is also showcased and looks even more threatening than the original. Zack’s appearance continues to be teased, but even if he’s an “important key character” per the developer, it comes down to Cloud locking swords with Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th as a timed exclusive on PS5 for three months. It’s estimated to have 100 hours of gameplay, with a main story that takes 40 hours to complete. Head here to see the size of the world map and the speed of fast travel.
