Though it initially looked like a third-person shooter evolution over the original, Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 is bigger and bolder than believed. Its Galactic War campaign is on a different scale, and it’s embracing more of a live service approach, as seen with the Warbonds and in-game store.

What does that mean for future content? Johan Pilestedt, chief executive visionary of creative and business Strategy at Arrowhead, said on Discord, “We are constantly going to add more stuff to the game! Enemies, objectives, biomes etc. are always going to be free and expand the experience.”

The release cadence of new content remains. A post-launch roadmap or something similar hasn’t been outlined, though there will be new items with Warbonds. These are unlocked with Super Credits, which you can pay real money for or discover while playing the game.

You then complete missions, objectives and more to earn Medals to buy the items you want. Like a battle pass, there is a Premium Warbond, but these won’t be time-limited and continuously accumulate, with players unlocking stuff at their own pace.

Helldivers 2 launches on February 8th for PS5 and PC. Head here for more details on the launch timings.
