Square Enix began its State of Play for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth by debuting a new trailer. It features a lot, from combat with various bosses to mini-games and activities. There are returning characters and more than a few surprises. Check it out below.

Perhaps the most surprising part of the trailer is Zack, who is seemingly reunited with Aerith and has a hostile reunion with Sephiroth. Meanwhile, while Cloud fights Sephiroth, there’s a scene where he’s skeptical of Tifa (believing to be a trick of Jenova) and attacks her. On a lighter note, various new outfits, including beachwear, are also showcased.

There are forces keen to retrieve the Black Materia and enlist Cloud to do so. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th for PS5. It ships on two Blu-ray discs and requires about 150 GB of installation space. A free demo will go live after State of Play concludes, so stay tuned for the official announcement.
