Development on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy as a whole has moved far faster than most would have anticipated, and it looks like its final instalment is also keeping up a steady pace behind the scenes, going by what Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi says.
Taking recently to Twitter, Hamaguchi – creative director on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – touched on his experiences travelling around the world to talk about and promote the acclaimed action RPG, before adding that the development team is hard at work on its sequel, which is hopes to deliver at the earliest.
“Right now, we’re working hard on development so that we can launch part 3 as soon as possible,” he wrote.
Early work on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 – or whatever it ends up being called – was being done as far back as 2022, though as you’d expect, production ramped up earlier this year. Producer Yoshinori Kitase has also suggested that Square Enix is targeting a 2027 launch, though nothing is set in stone just yet.
