There are some characters that you can’t leave out of a Marvel fighting game, and Wolverine definitely ranks near the top. The best he is at what he does, even if it isn’t very nice, is part of the Unbreakable X-Men in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and Arc System Works offers its own take on his Berserker Rage.

It starts with his unique ability to slash at opponents while moving. If you use Berserker Finish, then Rage becomes active, which provides additional attacks for his abilities. The catch is that it ends afterwards, so you’ll need to weave its activation into your combos. Fortunately, Logan has multiple ways to do so, like Berserker Claw, which can even serve as a follow-up to the more basic Berserker Claw.

Some moves also can “endure” damage and withstand interruption. Feral Shred is a great example, serving as an anti-air, while Eviscerate is a solid ground option, which can also transition into follow-up attacks that either slam opponents or launch them horizontally – perfect for setting up Wall Breaks.

Wolverine will be available to try out alongside the rest of the Unbreakable X-Men (and their nemesis, Magneto) when the open beta begins on July 24th. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6th for PS5 and PC, so stay tuned for even more Character Guides in the meantime.
