For those who purchase the Premium Edition, Halo: Campaign Evolved is now available in advanced access. As for everyone else who’s waiting until next week, there’s a great new launch trailer available, showcasing the gorgeous revamped cinematics and gameplay. Check it out below.

Developed on Unreal Engine 5 while maintaining the original’s codebase, Campaign Evolved sees Master Chief awakened to combat the Covenant. The latter are on a mission to activate Alpha Halo, which could effectively wipe out humanity and the rest of the universe. Cue Chief fighting through Elites, Grunts and other forces to stop them.

Beyond the incredible visuals, however, is the array of gameplay improvements. You can now sprint by default and equip weapons from other games in the series like the Plasma Sword. Split-screen co-op is also available for two players, but you can team up with four through online play. Campaign Evolved has made various subtle level changes to accommodate the increased player count and introduces 42 Skulls to radically alter the gameplay.

This includes a third-person perspective, which changes how you’ll see the world of Halo. If you’re keen on a more challenge-focused run, LASO returns and features a curated selection of Skulls for a tougher experience. Alternatively, there’s Campaign Remix, which changes up the base game (and the three new Prologue missions) in unique ways.

For more details, check out our feature on Halo: Campaign Evolved, and stay tuned for its worldwide launch on July 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
