Gamescom is right around the corner, kicking off next week with Opening Night Live. Of course, Xbox has its own livestreams, and while we don’t know which titles will appear, it seems the company could have a “neat” announcement planned. That’s according to insider NateTheHate, who says it’s something that “has my interest and curiosity piqued.”
Naturally, you’d assume it’s something big like The Elder Scrolls 6. Perhaps that rumored StarCraft shooter, especially with BlizzCon slated for next month. If nothing else, maybe it’s a tease of the confirmed remasters of Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas, or even Wolfenstein 3, which has had its own rumors for some time now.
But no, it’s apparently none of those. “It’s much too soon to share, and I’m still working to confirm whether or not the game will have a definite Gamescom presence,” said the insider. He also confirmed that this is a new game and doesn’t know whether the previously mentioned titles will appear.
So there’s still hope, though you’d think that Xbox would save them for bigger shows, whether it’s The Game Awards or even its own dedicated Summer showcase. We already know that Fallout Day isn’t happening this year, and Bethesda has something special planned for next year. It could reveal Fallout 3 Remastered and shadow-drop, much like with The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.
Time will tell, so stay tuned for updates, especially with Xbox’s livestreams taking place on August 26th and 27th at 7 AM PT.
