Just when you thought you were out, Pearl Abyss drags you back into Crimson Desert. Or rather, somewhere beyond, as its first paid DLC, Charting the Unknown, has been announced. Launching on October 15th, it sees players exploring a hidden region beyond the titular desert where “whispers of darkness” slowly gather.
From there, we see snippets of several new gameplay mechanics. As rumored, Kliff can swim and explore underwater courtesy of a new diving suit. He even has a little pack for faster traveling, or can just hang off of a shark (which could very well be a new pet). If that wasn’t enough, it seems players get their own ship to sail.
There’s also proper base-building with the Greymanes constructing a castle and being assigned to different tasks, including cooking. It wouldn’t be an expansion without some new bosses, and whether it’s humans engaging in hand-to-hand combat or a giant, laser-toting mechanical crab, you’re gonna have your hands full.
Stay tuned for more details on Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown in the coming weeks before it arrives on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
