Marvel's Wolverine (6)

Leading up to the September 15th release of Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac Games has released one last trailer, giving us our final pre-release look at the title. The trailer, which you can check out below, features many characters from across the title, including Sabretooth, Jean Gray, and even Mystique.

The central story of Marvel’s Wolverine revolves around the fact that perennial X-Men antagonist, Bolivar Trask, has figured out a way to detect mutants through Sentinels. This means that just about anyone with an X-gene is in trouble, and the mutants will have to work together to make sure that Trask’s machinations are brought to an end.

These story moments are interspersed with quick glimpses at gameplay that involve Logan taking on a variety of foes that range from Sentinels to ninjas, and even some epic boss fights along the way. Other characters making an appearance throughout the trailer include Trask, Deathstrike, and Psylocke.

The title got another trailer just last week that gave us a detailed look at combat, Logan’s various suits, and extra features like New Game Plus and Photo Mode. The studio has also spoken about being well-prepared for any potential backlash it might face following the release of Marvel’s Wolverine. In fact, director Mike Daly said that it was a “good problem to have”, since backlash only happens when a studio has an invested fan base.

Daly noted that, despite the fact that Insomniac is making a “great game that a lot of people love,” some will end up finding “stuff to complain about.”
