Capcom has released a new weapon trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, this time focusing on the Bow. Before you say, “That’s not new,” it highlights new actions that the new Boost Bracer enables. Check it out below.
As noted yesterday, the Boost Bracer is a new tool, functioning somewhat akin to Nero’s Red Queen from Devil May Cry 4 and 5. By using a Boost Driver, you can then Boost a weapon’s actions. For the Bow, this means a hop backwards while unleashing spread shot, allowing you to avoid a monster’s attack.
You can also assume a parry stance and automatically counterattack against a monster, temporarily knocking them down before transitioning into your usual normal shots. Dragonpiercer and Tracer Arrows benefit from Boost, though how much more damage they’re dealing remains to be seen. Defensively, there’s potential, but this doesn’t currently look like it will change the Calamitous Angel Dragon Element meta.
Of course, there’s also the armor set and weapon, crafted from Lao Shan Lung. If any doubts lingered about whether you’d hunt the Elder Dragon in the expansion, those can now be laid to rest.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance launches in 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s pretty much guaranteed to appear during the Capcom Spotlight on September 16th, so stay tuned for more details.
