Developer Athena Games has unveiled its new title – a hybrid action RPG and strategy game titled CONQ: Crown Of No Quarter. The game was showcased during Sony’s recent State of Play event with a trailer, giving us a look at how players will be able to seamlessly transition between hack-and-slash third-person action gameplay and strategy gameplay that involves commanding armies.

CONQ: Crown Of No Quarter takes place in a corrupted world with a variety of factions where past alliances have lost all meaning, and just about everyone is ready to wage war against each other. The story seemingly involves a strange take on the afterlife, dubbed the Eternal Shift, where a variety of cross-era armies are locked in never-ending battles.

On the gameplay side of things, players will get to take on hordes of enemies in brutal, hard-hitting hack-and-slash combat. The trailer has also indicated that players will get to pick from a variety of different characters, each with their own specializations across different weapon types. Along the way, players will also have to figure out how they can reach rival commanders, all while also commanding their own forces across various fronts.

Battles in CONQ: Crown Of No Quarter will take place across the land and the seas. Along with brutal infantry battles, players will also get to partake in naval skirmishes that involve taking out the opposing faction’s ships. To achieve this, tools like cannons are available.

The main goal of CONQ: Crown Of No Quarter seems to revolve around the player trying to claim their “Coronation”, which involves taking down commanders of various opposing factions.

CONQ: Crown Of No Quarter is coming to PC and PS5. There is no word yet on a potential Xbox Series X/S release.
