While Bulkhead Studios doesn’t want to miss the next-gen train when WARDOGS comes to consoles, it’s working to ensure Season 2 of the military sim shooter is successful. Kicking off on October 15th, the next season adds four new weapons: The TCX Spear assault rifle, the M14 DMR, the PP-19 Bizon SMG and the Evo-3 Ultra LMG, each with new attachments.
The anti-air Flakpanzer Gepard, the T-72 battle tank, and two variants of the light Wolf-110 (including one with a mounted M2 Browning) are four new vehicles to wreak havoc with. FOB builders have three new structures: the Wooden Step, an M2 Browning nest, and a Large Shelter for “covering key assets or keeping the rain off.”
Yes, rain. As a new weather preset, it alters visibility and sound quite extensively, like thunder muffling footsteps. It interacts with “damaged and destroyed structures” and otherwise changes the whole mood of the warzone. You also have to believe that it can affect the new Molotov throwable.
Other new features include the Wager Vendor, currently experimental, and letting you “bet on yourself.” It’s like a self-imposed challenge system, where you can select objectives, the stake, and the number of deaths. More objectives mean a bigger payout, but so too is the risk of dying and losing it all. Check out the full Season 2 details in the preview video below and stay tuned when it’s live later this week.
WARDOGS is currently in early access for PC and has sold over three million copies. Check out our review.
