The next slate of PlayStation Plus Essential titles has been revealed, with two must-play titles standing out. The first is Dead Island 2 on PS5 and PS4, the sequel that survived almost a decade in development and launched to fairly strong reviews.

Set in a zombie-infested Los Angeles, aka HELL-A, players control one of six Slayers and venture through the city to slay zombies by the hundreds. Sure, there’s an overarching plot revolving around their immunity and the powers it provides (namely Fury mode). But the real appeal is finding creative ways to slaughter the undead, especially since the Fully Locational Evisceration System for Humans or FLESH, allows for frighteningly realistic dismemberment.

The other noteworthy title is Monster Train 2 on PS5. Developed by Shiny Shoe, it follows the same deckbuilding rogue-lite gameplay loop as its predecessor but with new clans, cards, upgrades, bosses, and more. Upgrade spells, discover artifacts and ultimately create a broken build to humble any opposition. It’s even getting new DLC, The Punished, on November 10th, adding another clan to the packed roster.

Finally, there’s Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, Aspyr’s trio of remasters for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Considering how reviled the latter two are, it probably shouldn’t be your first pick, but free is free. All three titles will be available to claim starting on November 3rd.
