Phantom Blade Zero is finally available on PS5 and PC, and it’s off to an incredible start, crossing 500,000 concurrent players on Steam. It currently has a 79 percent “Mostly Positive” rating based on 4,894 user reviews, but that could change as the day goes on.
And while that’s a far cry from Black Myth: Wukong’s peak of over 2.4 million (for now), Phantom Blade Zero is still far ahead of other recent action RPGs, including The Blood of Dawnwalker (78,188) and Control Resonant (42,799). It even surpassed Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s peak (85,081).
Regardless, estimates that the title allegedly sold over one million copies before launch on PS5 and PC appear to be legitimate. While it apparently crossed 850,000 on the PlayStation Store and Steam, Alinea Analytics also factored in other platforms like WeGame and Tencent. We’re still waiting for official figures from developer S-Game, so stay tuned for updates.
