While Anthem has looked to be a wonderful experience from a lot of what BioWare has shown of it so far, one of the primary shortcomings it was looking to have for many was the lack of a shared social space for players to hang out in. While it is going to have a single player hub area called Fort Tarsis, which would be full of NPCs to interact with, no social space in the vein of Destiny’s The Tower was present.
However, it looks like BioWare has responded to player feedback on this front at last, because today on Twitter, the studio’s Michael Gamble announced the Launch Bay, a brand new social space for up to 16 players that players can hang out in between missions. You can use the forge there, grab new contracts, and reload here, too.
So, it sounds like another complaint you may have had with the game addressed, and it paints a great picture of BioWare being response to community feedback with the title. Anthem launches on February 22 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s gone gold as well, with its demos now available to pre-load, so we don’t have to worry about delays at this point either.
After a mission, you can head back to Tarsis and catch up with some of the amazing characters we've created for you…OR…head back to the brand new Launch Bay, hang out with your friends, use the forge, reload and grab a new contract. Yeah, we listened to you… details soon! pic.twitter.com/m5sp96IpDh
