The Oskoreia Festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is still going strong, originally planned to end this past Thursday but now being extended to December 9th. In the meantime, Ubisoft has added a new community challenge. If the collective player base can get 250,000 kills with one-handed swords by next Thursday, they unlock Basim’s sword as a new weapon.

Basim is part of the main campaign and as a member of the Hidden Ones, he’s the one who provides some details on the Order of the Ancients to Eivor. How his sword performs compared to other options in the game remains to be seen but it’s a nice reward to have.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia – check out our review here. Support will continue into next year with rumors pointing to the next expansion being Dawn of Ragnarok. This apparently sees Eivor traveling to Svartalfheim to battle the forces of Muspelheim and features more fantasy powers like invisibility and ice attacks.
