Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare doesn’t have a season pass, but it will deliver new content first on PS4. This was confirmed via the PlayStation Twitter, which shared the recent reveal trailer. At the end, it states, “Play new content first on PS4”, with the fine print indicating that new playable content would launch on the console seven days prior to other platforms.
This shouldn’t really be surprising, especially to players of Call of Duty: WW2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The former had events, maps, and DLC that would launch on PS4 first before heading to Xbox One and PC. The same applies to Black Ops 4, which launched its Black Market Streams (similar to Battle Passes), maps, and new modes on PS4 first.
Infinity Ward has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have free maps and post-launch events. However, even with cross-platform multiplayer, it seems that some players will have to wait before joining their friends on other platforms when new content releases. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
