Control AWE

Remedy Entertainment will be releasing its second paid expansion for Control today. AWE sees Jesse Faden looking into Altered World Events in the Investigations Sector, battling a strange creature within. Inevitably, her exploration will bring her closer to Alan Wake and Bright Falls. Check out the trailer below.

AWE signals the beginning of a shared universe between Remedy’s properties (another title is currently in the works that will also tie in). Along with the new expansion, a free update will be available to all players today as well. It features an upgrade to the Multi-Launch ability which lets you throw three objects at a time and a new Assist Mode for quicker energy regeneration, Service Weapon reloads and more.

New checkpoints have also been added for different fights, reducing the frustration of backtracking after dying. Control Points are also moved closer to boss fights. Along with AWE and the free update, Control Ultimate Edition also launches today for PC via Steam. It will be coming to Epic Games Store, Xbox One and PS4 users on September 10th.
